RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has secured a place in the semifinals of the 2026 SEA V-Cup after defeating host nation, the Philippines, 3-0 at Candon City Arena on Friday, July 17, 2026.
Farhan Halim and his teammates delivered a straight-set victory, setting up a semifinal clash against Vietnam on Saturday, July 18.
Indonesia fielded its starting lineup in the opening set to counter the Philippines’ attacks and establish control early in the match.
“Their attacks weren’t too difficult to anticipate because the second balls tended to be high,” said Indonesian men’s national team assistant coach Nur Widayanto.
The coaching staff began rotating players in the second set after analyzing the Philippine squad. Dio and Rama Fazza came on for Alfin Daniel and Fauzan Nibras, while Tedi Oka and Sigit Ardian also saw playing time.
“That’s part of our plan because we have good depth in the roster,” Nur added.
With two consecutive wins, Indonesia advanced to the semifinals without dropping a set. The Red-and-White squad will next face Vietnam for a place in the final. (Gusti Panji)
