Indonesian Boccia Team Wins Gold on ASEAN Para Games Final Day

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian boccia athletes capped off their campaign at the ASEAN Para Games (APG) 2025 with a gold medal on the final day of competition, Sunday, January 25, 2026, in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.
According to the organizers, the gold came from the mixed team BC1-2 event, featuring Gischa Zayana, Felix Ardi Yudha, and Muhamad Afrizal Syafa. The trio outperformed host nation Thailand and Malaysia to claim the top spot.
In addition to the gold, Indonesia’s boccia contingent earned two bronze medals on Sunday: one in the mixed pairs BC3 event with Fendy Kurnia and Suci Kirana Dewi, and another in the mixed pairs BC4 event with Faris Sugiarta and Slamet Mulyati.
Overall, Indonesia collected three golds, two silvers, and five bronzes in boccia at APG 2025, an improvement from the 2023 Games in Cambodia, where the team secured two golds, two silvers, and three bronzes.
The other gold medals this year were contributed by Handayani in the women’s BC1 individual event and Gischa Zayana in the women’s BC2 individual event. Silver medals went to Intan Cahaya Putri (women’s BC2 individual) and Suci Kirana Dewi (women’s BC3 individual).
Five bronzes were won by Muhamad Afrizal (men’s BC1 individual), Muhammad Bintang Satria (men’s BC2 individual), Faris Sugiarta (men’s BC4 individual), along with the mixed pairs BC3 and BC4 teams.
As of Sunday at 3:52 p.m. Jakarta time, Indonesia had amassed 128 gold, 130 silver, and 107 bronze medals overall at the ASEAN Para Games 2025, placing second in the medal standings behind Thailand, which led with 166 golds, 152 silvers, and 146 bronzes. ***
