Indonesian Para Archery Squad Wins Second Gold at ASEAN Para Games

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian para-archery team celebrated their second gold medal of the 2025 ASEAN Para Games at Mook Stadium Field in Thailand on Friday, January 23, 2026, after the men’s recurve squad defeated Malaysia in a commanding final.
The victory lifted Indonesia’s daily tally to 57 gold medals, keeping the nation firmly in second place on the overall leaderboard behind Thailand. The archers delivered a flawless 6-0 performance in the championship match.
Quoting Antara, the trio of Khoirul Anwar, Kholidin, and Setiawan secured the gold after sweeping Malaysia’s Suresh Selvatamby, Nurfaizal Bin Hamzah, and Muhammad Azaruddin Bin Mat.
Earlier in the semifinals, Kholidin and his teammates had also dominated the Philippine team of Keith Vincent Gramaje, Giovanni Ola, and Michael Gorospe, winning by the same 6-0 margin.
This triumph added to Indonesia’s archery success, following Kholidin’s individual gold in the men’s recurve final, where he faced compatriot Setiawan. To date, the para-archery contingent has contributed two golds, one silver, and one bronze to Indonesia’s overall medal count.
By Friday afternoon, January 23, 3:30 p.m. local time, the “Red and White” contingent had amassed 57 gold medals across multiple disciplines, including boccia, para-archery, para-athletics, para-cycling, para-fencing, para-judo, para-powerlifting, para-swimming, para-table tennis, para-shooting, and tenpin bowling.
Indonesia remains second in the standings, trailing host nation Thailand with 91 golds, while maintaining a wide lead over Malaysia in third with 26. ***
