KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian national futsal team kicked off its campaign at the 2025 CFA International Tournament with a commanding 5–1 victory over Cambodia in Shijiazhuang, China, on Friday, September 5.

Indonesia dominated from the opening whistle, taking the lead in the second minute through forward Reza Gunawan. Midfielder Muhammad Faturrahman doubled the score in the 18th minute, giving the Garuda squad a 2–0 advantage heading into halftime.

Cambodia attempted to mount a comeback in the second half, deploying a power play strategy that posed a greater threat to Indonesia’s goal.

However, Indonesia extended its lead in the 22nd minute when forward Adityas Prambudi converted a cross from winger Dewi Rizki to make it 3–0.

Defender Andres Dwi Persada added a fourth goal in the 38th minute, followed by Adityas’s second strike just one minute later.

Cambodia managed a consolation goal in the final minute through Ros Sichomrouen, but Indonesia sealed the match with a decisive 5–1 win.

Despite the strong performance, assistant coach Muhammad Amril Daulay acknowledged that the team faced early challenges. “It’s natural to experience some difficulties at the start due to adaptation,” Amril said, as quoted by antaranews.com. “But the second half showed clear improvement. I’m proud of the players who continue to push themselves. Step by step, this will become our foundation to perform better from the first match to the last.”

Indonesia will face Myanmar in its second Group B match on Saturday, September 6, followed by a final group-stage clash against New Zealand on Monday, September 8. ***
