TNI Fair Features F-16 Fighter Jet Simulator for Visitors to Try

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Military (TNI) holdholds the TNI Fair at the Monas Field in Jakarta from September 19 to 20, 2026, as part of celebrations marking the 81st anniversary of the TNI. One of the attractions visitors can try is an F-16 fighter jet simulator, which offers them the experience of controlling a fighter aircraft, from managing its speed to attempting a landing.

The simulator allows visitors to experience what it is like to fly a fighter jet in a simulated environment. Visitors can try various basic aircraft controls, including managing the aircraft’s speed and finding the right position for landing.

Head of the General Information Subdivision at the Indonesian Air Force Public Affairs Office, Colonel Sus Yohanes Ridwan, said the simulator does not require any special skills to try, although users need to understand some basic aspects of aircraft control.

“It’s not something you can master instantly, but people who are used to playing flight simulation games can usually give it a try. So, it doesn’t necessarily require any special skills. What matters is understanding the aircraft’s attitude, its speed for landing, and other basic aspects that need to be mastered,” Yohanes said on the sidelines of the TNI Fair, Saturday, September 19, 2026.

Visitors showed enthusiasm while trying the F-16 simulator. One of them, Alda, said she felt somewhat nervous but still enjoyed the experience, particularly when attempting to land the aircraft.

“I was pretty nervous, but it was really fun. The landing was the most challenging part. I had to find the right landing position on the monitor. Other than that, everything was fine,” Alda explained.

In addition to the F-16 simulator, the TNI Fair also features an exhibition of military equipment from the Indonesian Army, Navy, and Air Force. Visitors can try some of the equipment as long as the activities do not pose any safety risks.

The TNI Fair also features various other activities for the public, including free healthcare services, psychological assessments, basic life skills training, and free food distribution. The event is being held over two days and is open to the public at the Monas Field in Jakarta.
