Government Sets 18 National Holidays, 8 Collective Leave Days

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has designated 18 national holidays and eight collective leave days for 2027. The decision was stipulated in a Three-Minister Joint Decree signed in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
The decree was signed by Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Rini Widyantini.
Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Pratikno said most of the national holidays in 2027 coincide with religious holidays.
“It has been agreed that there will be 18 national holidays in 2027, most of which are religious holidays. Meanwhile, there will be eight collective leave days in 2027,” Pratikno said.
The following is the list of 18 national holidays in 2027:
- January 1 (Friday) - New Year’s Day 2027
- January 5 (Tuesday) - Isra Mikraj of the Prophet Muhammad 1448 Hijri
- February 6 (Saturday) - Chinese New Year 2578 Kongzili
- March 8 (Monday) - Nyepi, the Saka New Year 1949
- March 10 (Wednesday) - Eid al-Fitr 1448 Hijri
- March 11 (Thursday) - Eid al-Fitr 1448 Hijri
- March 26 (Friday) - Good Friday
- March 28 (Sunday) - Easter Sunday
- May 1 (Saturday) - International Workers’ Day
- May 6 (Thursday) - Ascension Day of Jesus Christ
- May 17 (Monday) - Eid al-Adha 1448 Hijri
- May 20 (Thursday) - Vesak Day 2571 BE
- June 1 (Tuesday) - Pancasila Day
- June 6 (Sunday) - Islamic New Year 1449 Hijri
- August 15 (Sunday) - Mawlid of the Prophet Muhammad
- August 17 (Tuesday) - Indonesia’s Independence Day
- December 25 (Saturday) - Christmas Day
- December 26 (Sunday) - Isra Mikraj of the Prophet Muhammad 1449 Hijri
Meanwhile, the following are the eight collective leave days in 2027:
- February 5 (Friday) - Chinese New Year 2578 Kongzili
- March 9 (Tuesday) - Eid al-Fitr 1448 Hijri
- March 12 (Friday) - Eid al-Fitr 1448 Hijri
- March 15 (Monday) - Eid al-Fitr 1448 Hijri

- May 19 (Wednesday) - Vesak Day 2571 BE
- December 24 (Friday) - Christmas Day
The early designation of national holidays and collective leave days is expected to provide greater certainty for the public and businesses in planning work schedules, business activities, travel, and holiday plans throughout 2027.
