RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia has once again been entrusted to host Radiodays Asia 2026, scheduled for September 1–3, 2026, in Jakarta. The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, emphasized the government's commitment to strengthening the national broadcasting and digital content ecosystem through this international event.

In his opening remarks delivered at the Hotel Aryaduta on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the Minister stated that radio can no longer be defined merely as a frequency, but rather as part of a broader audio ecosystem. "Radio is part of the audio ecosystem, and technology has transformed how audio content is produced, distributed, and enjoyed," he said.

Radiodays Asia 2026 carries the theme "The Evolution of Audio" and serves as a forum bringing together radio, podcast, and audio industry players from Indonesia, the Asia-Pacific region, and beyond. The event also provides a platform to discuss the evolution of the radio ecosystem amidst technological changes.

Attended by over 300 participants from 26 countries, the event addresses a range of strategic issues from the use of artificial intelligence, news, misinformation, and journalism to audio business strategies and sustainability, sales and monetization, advertising, research and data, and the integration of radio, podcasts, and creators. The forum is considered a pivotal moment for strengthening synergy among stakeholders to ensure the future sustainability of the creative ecosystem.

The Minister also highlighted current challenges facing the audio industry, noting that the focus has shifted beyond mere content production to transforming stories from various countries into intellectual property (IP) capable of transcending borders and generating long-term economic value. "We need stronger collaboration between creativity and technology, between ideas and investment, and between local talent and global opportunities," he added.

Echoing this sentiment, CEO of Radiodays Europe, North America, and Asia, Peter Niegel, stated that the forum is becoming increasingly relevant amidst technological shifts and changing public consumption patterns. "From the outset, Radiodays Asia has served as a vital platform for industry professionals to exchange ideas, explore emerging trends, and shape the future of the audio industry across the broader region," he remarked.
