RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa led the Task Force's Open Session on Debottlenecking Channel Complaints in Ministry of Finance, Jakarta, on Thursday, July 23, 2026. The session was held to address several regulatory barriers and investment competition issues faced by national businesses.

During the session, the Task Force and relevant stakeholders discussed two main reports. The first concerns regulations and permits for the construction of a cable car on Lake Toba, and the second concerns indications of unfair competition in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

The issue of inequality in SEZs is considered to have impacted the low absorption of domestic electrical equipment products in basic infrastructure development projects in these areas. This situation is of particular concern to the government because it has the potential to harm local manufacturers who have invested in building factories domestically.

Responding to these findings, Finance Minister Purbaya emphasized that the government would adjust regulations so that companies with a high Domestic Component Level (TKDN) have equal access to Special Economic Zones (SEZ) areas. He conveyed this as a conclusion of the debottlenecking meeting, which discussed the issue of competitive inequality.

He added that domestic producers with factories in Indonesia need to be given equal opportunities to compete in the region. "The conclusion of the debottlenecking is that we will adjust the regulations so that companies with factories here, with a higher TKDN, above 40 percent on average, have equal access to SEZ areas," said the Minister.

Purbaya also instructed several relevant institutions to immediately harmonize the regulations that are the bottlenecks. These agencies include the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and the SEZ Administrator.

The government, through the P3M-PPE Task Force, emphasized that it will continue to push for the accelerated resolution of these two issues without neglecting applicable regulations. The debottlenecking session is considered not just a forum for resolving complaints, but a strategic instrument that brings together the government and the private sector to address real obstacles on the ground.

As of July 23, 2026, 167 complaints had been successfully resolved through the Debottlenecking Channel, both through sessions chaired by the Minister of Finance as Deputy Chair of the Task Force and through coordination meetings at the Echelon I and II levels. This achievement is considered to reflect the government's commitment to creating a healthier, more secure, and more conducive business climate for all national economic actors.
