RRI.CO.ID, Klaten - Indonesia's Klaten Regency is expanding housing assistance for low-income families through its Uninhabitable House Rehabilitation (RTLH) program. The update was shared in Klaten on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
More than 1,600 residents across 26 districts will receive home renovation assistance this year. The program aims to improve living conditions and provide safer, more comfortable housing.
One beneficiary, Nila Sari, expressed gratitude after her damaged house was renovated. She said rainwater previously entered her home because of its deteriorated condition.
"I am happy. The terrace was badly damaged before, and rainwater entered the house whenever it rained. I am grateful it has now been repaired." she said.
Nila thanked the Klaten Regency Government for helping renovate her home. She said the assistance has made her house complete again and free from leaks.
"Thank you, Mr. Regent, for the housing assistance. My house is now complete and no longer leaks." she added.
Head of Housing and Land Affairs at the Klaten Housing and Settlement Agency, Waris Handoyo, said this year's program covers more beneficiaries than last year. The funding comes from the Klaten Regency Government, the Central Java Provincial Government, Indonesia's Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, the National Alms Agency (Baznas), and corporate social responsibility programs.
He encouraged beneficiaries to maintain their renovated homes for long-term use. He said proper maintenance would help families enjoy safer and more comfortable living environments for years to come.
