RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency continues to strengthen the development of the creative economy through various strategic measures, from strengthening access to financing and investment to digital economic transformation. Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, made the statement while speaking at Finance 2045 held by Trescon Global in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
In her presentation titled "Creative Economy as Indonesia's Next Investable Growth Engine," Irene emphasized that the creative economy has significant growth potential but remains structurally undercapitalized. Therefore, this sector is considered worthy of becoming a promising new asset class for global investors.
She explained that her ministry is promoting a new financing scheme through Intellectual Property securitization. "This innovative step aims to create a new measuring tool that helps banks assess creative assets, both those already generating revenue and those still in the form of copyrights/new designs, so that our creative industry players can gain easier access to financing to scale their businesses," she said.
With the theme "Bridging Global Capital to Indonesia's Digital Boom," Finance 2045 serves as a collaborative space bringing together government, investors, and industry players. This forum aims to strengthen access to capital while expanding investment opportunities in the creative economy sector.
By the third quarter of 2025, realized creative economy investment reached IDR 132.04 trillion, or approximately 9 percent of total national investment, meeting 97 percent of the annual target. Meanwhile, the creative economy's GDP grew 5.54 percent by the end of 2025, exceeding the 5.3 percent target.
The Vice Minister of Creative Economy stated that his office is also accelerating the resolution of cross-border payment issues for creators. "We are also utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain to protect the copyright of local works while making it easier for Indonesian creative products to penetrate the global market," she said.
Trescon Global, the Dubai-based business forum organizer, is the company that organized it. The Vice Minister was accompanied at the event by the Director of Funding Access, Financing, and Investment Development, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana.
