RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia has launched a nationwide campaign to strengthen child protection by encouraging all sectors of society to create safer, healthier, and more inclusive environments for children. The initiative is part of the country's commemoration of the 42nd National Children's Day in 2026 and aims to designate July as Indonesia's Month of Children.

Based on the release received by RRI VOI in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection officially relaunched the BERLIAN (Together Protect Children) Campaign as a collaborative movement supporting the National Safe and Child-Friendly Spaces Movement initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture. The campaign promotes shared responsibility among families, schools, communities, businesses, the media, and government institutions in safeguarding children's rights.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, said child protection has become increasingly challenging due to changing family structures, urbanization, and rapid digital transformation. “We share the same commitment to protecting children by creating safe and comfortable spaces. We can no longer rely solely on families; every space accessed by children—from homes and schools to public and digital spaces—must be safe and supportive,” he said.

Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, Arifah Fauzi, described the BERLIAN Campaign as a national call for collective action to make July Indonesia's Month of Children. She stressed that protecting children's rights cannot be achieved by the government alone but requires broad participation from all sectors of society.

“The BERLIAN Campaign invites every element of society to ensure that fulfilling children's rights and protecting them becomes our shared responsibility. We must work together with families, educational institutions, community and religious organizations, businesses, the media, children's forums, and all stakeholders,” Arifah said.

According to the minister, the campaign aims to strengthen child protection in every aspect of daily life, including families, schools, public spaces, and digital platforms. It also promotes positive parenting, public education, stronger responses to violence against children, and greater participation by children in decisions that affect their lives.

Arifah affirmed that the initiative seeks to ensure children are protected from violence, discrimination, bullying, and child marriage while receiving positive care and support from their families and communities. “We also want children's voices to be heard and considered in every effort to protect them so they feel respected, valued, and included as Indonesia prepares for its Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,” she said.

The campaign was officially launched through a symbolic traditional toy ceremony, followed by the signing of a joint commitment and the writing of messages on a Wall of Fame to demonstrate collective support. The event brought together senior government officials, child protection agencies, law enforcement representatives, religious organizations, development partners, media organizations, and the National Children's Forum, reflecting Indonesia's multi-stakeholder approach to building a safer future for every child.
