RRI.CO.ID, Mojokerto - The Indonesian government is strengthening collaboration with the media as part of a broader strategy to accelerate rural development and promote inclusive economic growth across the country's villages. The initiative forms part of the government's efforts to ensure that successful village development models are widely shared and replicated nationwide.

Indonesia's Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions, Yandri Susanto, delivered the message while attending the Radar Mojokerto Awards 2026 in Mojokerto, East Java, on Tuesday evening, 7 July 2026. He said the ministry is implementing an Octahelix collaboration model that brings together government, businesses, academia, communities, the media, and other stakeholders to advance village development.

According to him, credible media organizations play an increasingly important role in the digital era by providing reliable information that can guide public understanding and policy implementation. “Mass media such as Jawa Pos Radar Mojokerto remains essential in the era of social media because they provide verified and trustworthy news that people can rely on,” he said.

The minister praised Radar Mojokerto for consistently featuring village-related coverage and recognizing innovative village leaders through its annual awards. He said the publication's commitment to promoting rural development would receive special recognition during Indonesia's upcoming National Village Day celebration.

Besides, Yandri affirmed that collaboration among stakeholders is crucial to achieving the government's rural development agenda. “We must ensure that this collaboration continues to move forward effectively,” he said.

He explained that villages have become the centerpiece of Indonesia's development strategy under President Prabowo Subianto's sixth Asta Cita priority, which focuses on building the nation from villages to promote equitable economic growth and reduce poverty. To support that goal, the Ministry has launched the 12 Village Development Actions, which complement initiatives such as tourism villages, climate-resilient villages, green economy villages, and drug-free villages.

The minister also congratulated village heads who received the Radar Mojokerto Awards 2026, expressing hope that their achievements would inspire other communities across Indonesia's more than 75,000 villages. He stressed that success stories should be disseminated through trusted media so they can be replicated in other regions.

Yandri also invited communities to participate in the ministry's priority programs, including thematic villages focused on fisheries, agriculture, tourism, and exports. He noted that Indonesian villages are now exporting flagship products to 49 countries, demonstrating their growing contribution to the national economy and international markets.
