RRI.CO.ID, Medan - Indonesia's Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Brian Yuliarto, inaugurated the new campus building of Satya Terra Bhinneka University (ST Bhinneka) in Medan, on Monday, 29 June 2026. He described the facility as a monument to collaboration, reflecting the collective commitment of various stakeholders to advancing higher education in Indonesia.

Brian said the new building symbolizes a shared commitment to developing high-quality human resources through cooperation, hard work, and the spirit of mutual assistance. He noted that collaboration remains a key factor in strengthening the country's higher education system.

The minister also praised the university's efforts to promote a strong culture of literacy. He encouraged the institution to open its library to the wider community so that more young people could benefit from quality learning resources.

"A reading culture is one of the indicators of a nation's progress. I hope this excellent library can become a shared learning space for the community, allowing more young people to develop a lifelong passion for reading and learning," Brian said.

He also commended ST Bhinneka founder Sofyan Tan for his long-standing dedication to expanding educational opportunities in Indonesia. He said Tan had demonstrated that meaningful change in education requires both vision and concrete action.

"I have witnessed firsthand how Mr. Sofyan Tan built educational opportunities from the ground up. He not only speaks about education but has turned his vision into real action. This is an inspiring example that should be replicated across Indonesia," Brian said.

The minister noted that the campus was completed within a relatively short period, demonstrating that optimism, effective management, and strong collaboration can deliver significant achievements. He expressed hope that the university's experience would inspire both public and private higher education institutions to pursue ambitious goals.

Brian further affirmed that Indonesia's education sector needs more individuals with the courage, commitment, and dedication demonstrated by Sofyan Tan. He said such leadership would help nurture a new generation of education leaders capable of driving positive change for the nation.
