RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has opened public participation in selecting the official logo for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day celebrations. The Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of State Secretariat, and the Government Communications Agency officially launched a public online poll for the 2026 Independence Day logo on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
“This year marks a new milestone in the selection of Indonesia’s Independence Day logo. For the first time in history, under the President’s directive, the public is actively involved in choosing the official logo through an online poll running from June 24 to June 28, 2026,” Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya said.
The public can review the concepts and design philosophies of the finalists and cast their votes through the official polling website. The five featured designs were created by professional graphic designers from across Indonesia and were selected through a curation process involving the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of State Secretariat, and the Asosiasi Desainer Grafis Indonesia (ADGI). Each design offers a unique visual interpretation of this year’s Independence Day theme.
According to the Minister, the logo competition attracted 124 participants from across the country. The government also encouraged participation from Indonesia’s creative talents while ensuring a professional selection process that produced five finalists for public voting.
The finalists are:
- David Wirawan (Surakarta)
- Fajar Novario (Padang)
- Kanda Putra (Denpasar)
- Riskiawan (Malang)
- Tiffany Djohan (Batam)
Meanwhile, Vice Minister of State Secretariat, Juri Ardiantoro, announced the official theme for Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day commemoration: “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”
He emphasized that involving the public in choosing the official logo was a direct instruction from President Prabowo to ensure that the Independence Day celebration truly belongs to all Indonesians. To encourage participation, the organizing committee has also prepared prizes for 300 selected participants.
The rewards include 100 invitations to attend the official Independence Day flag-raising ceremony, 100 official Independence Day souvenir packages, and 100 educational assistance awards.
