RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - Indonesia's Hajj Minister Moch. Irfan Yusuf, praised the dedication of Hajj service officers and reaffirmed efforts to improve future services. The statement was delivered while welcoming returning officers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

He also welcomed 355 officers from the Makkah Working Area. They returned after completing months of service for Indonesian pilgrims throughout this year's Hajj season.

The minister expressed appreciation for the officers' dedication, hard work, and commitment during operations in Saudi Arabia. He said their contribution helped support services for Indonesian pilgrims during various stages of worship.

Pilgrim service operations in Makkah have now concluded as the return process continues from Madinah. As of Tuesday, more than 149,000 Indonesian pilgrims had safely returned to the country.

The ministry is also closely monitoring 121 pilgrims who remain under medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. They will be repatriated gradually after medical teams declare them fit for travel.

Irfan expressed appreciation for the officers' dedication throughout this year's Hajj operations. He also conveyed President Prabowo Subianto's appreciation for their service to Indonesian pilgrims.

“Thank you for all the performance and efforts that have been given in serving Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. The President also conveyed appreciation to all officers who worked sincerely throughout this year's Hajj operations,” he said.

The minister noted that 350 Indonesian pilgrims had died during this year's pilgrimage season. Although lower than last year, the figure remains an important concern for future evaluations.

Indonesia will strengthen health eligibility standards and improve training programs for Hajj officers nationwide. The ministry aims to enhance service quality, operational readiness, and pilgrim safety in future seasons.
