KASAU Cup 2026 Promotes Athlete Development and Character Building Among Youth

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The 2026 Kasau Cup Pencak Silat Championship has officially commenced as a platform for athlete development and youth character building through the traditional Indonesian martial art of pencak silat. The tournament was opened at the Jakarta International Velodrome in Rawamangun, Jakarta, on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

The championship was officially inaugurated by Assistant for Territorial Affairs of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Rear Marshal TNI Dr. Palito Sitorus representing, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, Air Marshal M. Tonny Harjono. The opening ceremony featured the striking of a gong and the ceremonial handover of a golok from the referees and judges, symbolizing the start of the competition.

The 2026 Kasau Cup Pencak Silat Championship has attracted more than 1,000 athletes representing 129 contingents from 11 provinces across Indonesia. The large number of participants reflects the growing enthusiasm for and development of pencak silat in various regions of the country.

In a speech delivered by Assistant for Territorial Affairs of the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force, he stated that the Kasau Cup 2026 forms part of the Indonesian Air Force’s commitment to supporting national sports development while fostering the character of young people through the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance.

“The Kasau Cup Pencak Silat Championship reflects the Indonesian Air Force’s commitment to supporting sports development and strengthening the character of Indonesia’s younger generation,” the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force said in a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia (VOI) on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

In addition to providing a platform for athletes to enhance their skills and gain competitive experience, the championship is expected to produce high-achieving athletes capable of representing Indonesia with distinction on the international stage.
