RRI.CO.ID, Lampung - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating the transformation of national health services by constructing hospitals and community health centers, as well as providing medical equipment and medicines.
“We want to build a strong and resilient economy. We want to manage our natural resources and wealth to provide better services to the community,” the President said at the inauguration of the K. H. Muhammad Thohir Krui Regional Hospital in Pesisir Barat, Lampung, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as quoted on the official presidential website.
On that occasion, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of equitable access to healthcare across all regions. The government has prepared a program to build and renovate hospitals nationwide.
“The government will continue to improve healthcare services. Together with the Minister of Health, we have planned that over the next three years we will build, repair, and renovate 350 to 400 hospitals across Indonesia’s districts,” he said.
In addition to strengthening referral services through hospitals, the government is also prioritizing primary healthcare by modernizing community health centers. This program includes the distribution of modern medical equipment to regions as part of the national healthcare transformation.
President Prabowo revealed that nearly 1,000 units of modern medical equipment have been distributed to regional hospitals in 514 regencies and cities, improving diagnostic capacity and service quality.
The President also outlined achievements in healthcare infrastructure. By 2025, the government had built 22 regional hospitals, with another 22 scheduled for 2026. Furthermore, 20 hospitals under the health service strengthening program have been completed and are operating.
“We built 22 regional hospitals in 2025, and in 2026, we will build 22 more. I emphasize that we will build and modernize 350 hospitals in the next three years. Thank God, the first 20 hospitals have been completed and are serving the public,” President Prabowo said.
He also stressed the importance of transparent healthcare management free from corruption, while ensuring affordable medicines.
“There must be no irregularities or corruption in public services. We will strive to provide medicines at the most efficient prices possible. I hope that within this year, we can provide generic medicines at affordable prices to the public,” he emphasized.
Through the development of healthcare facilities, basic services, and improved access to medicines, the government aims to accelerate transformation in the national healthcare sector.
The inauguration of the K. H. Muhammad Thohir Krui Regional Hospital is a concrete manifestation of these efforts, expanding public access to quality healthcare in the region. ***
