RRI.CO.ID, Sumedang – The State Logistics Agency (Perum BULOG) is urging rice milling business owners to maintain rice quality in order to strengthen national food security. This appeal was made by Perum BULOG Director General Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani during a dialogue with business operators from the Greater Bandung area in Sumedang, West Java, on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

Ahmad emphasized that the success of managing the Government Rice Reserve (CBP) heavily depends on consistent quality maintenance from the production process through to distribution. Currently, the national rice stock managed by this state-owned food enterprise has reached 5.4 million metric tons.

“Rice quality is our shared responsibility. Large stockpiles must be accompanied by maintained quality. Therefore, I urge all milling partners to continue improving processing standards, maintaining consistent quality, and strengthening collaboration with BULOG so that the public receives rice of the highest quality,” he said, according to a BULOG press release.

In addition to holding the dialogue, the head of the logistics agency also conducted an on-site inspection of the rice milling facilities owned by the milling partner CV Sarana Putra 2 in Sumedang. This step was taken to ensure that the entire production chain meets the quality standards set by the government.

The inspection continued at the Kordon Branch Warehouse to monitor cleanliness, the ventilation system, and the physical condition of the stored food commodities. During the inspection, it was also confirmed that security measures in the storage areas were functioning optimally.

Ahmad stated, “We are ensuring that the warehouse security system operates optimally. Security at BULOG warehouses is reinforced through collaboration with personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to safeguard the Government Rice Reserve stock so that the storage and distribution processes can proceed in a safe, orderly, and smooth manner.”

Collaboration between the government, the private sector, and security forces is viewed as the cornerstone of maintaining the stability of Indonesia’s food supply. Through strong partnerships, Perum BULOG is optimistic that the goals of self-sufficiency and sustainable food security can be achieved.
