Indonesian Air Force's Jupiter Aerobatic Team Inspires Young Generation

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The presence of the Indonesian Air Force’s Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT) at Dhomber Air Base in Balikpapan served as a stopover on its return journey from an air diplomacy mission in Brunei Darussalam. The presense is also as an opportunity to educate and inspire the younger generation.

During the event held on June 4, 2026, students from Angkasa Kindergarten at Dhomber Air Base and members of Saka Dirgantara had the opportunity to closely observe the KT-1B Woongbi aircraft operated by the Jupiter Aerobatic Team. They also interacted directly with the pilots and crew members of the Indonesian Air Force’s renowned aerobatic squadron.

According to a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Saturday, June 6, 2026, the activity was part of efforts to introduce the world of aerospace and aviation to young people from an early age, while fostering patriotism and pride in the Indonesian Air Force.

Through direct engagement with the pilots, participants gained valuable insights into aviation, the profession of military aviators, and the experiences of the Jupiter Aerobatic Team in carrying out its missions. The team's visit to Dhomber Air Base was part of its return trip to Adisutjipto Air Base after successfully conducting an air diplomacy mission and performing an aerobatic display during the 65th Anniversary celebration of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) in Brunei Darussalam.

Commander of Dhomber Air Base, Colonel Kisworo, expressed his appreciation for the Jupiter Aerobatic Team’s success in promoting Indonesia on the international stage through its performances and air diplomacy missions.

“The presence of the Indonesian Air Force aerobatic team was expected to motivate young people to continue learning, strive for excellence, and develop their interests and potential in the field of aerospace,” he said.

In addition to strengthening the Indonesian Air Force’s engagement with the community, the activity also formed part of broader efforts to raise awareness and encourage interest among the younger generation in Indonesia’s aviation sector, a strategic field that plays an important role in supporting national development and progress.
