RRI.CO.ID, Ambon - The Maluku Provincial Administration has made significant progress in implementing the National Strategic Program (PSN), achieving 88 percent of its 68 targets, underscoring the region’s commitment to the national agenda.
Maluku Governor Hendrik Lewerissa highlighted this achievement during a working visit by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs for the Eastern Zone, Ribka Haluk, in Ambon on Friday, June 5, 2026.
“Maluku has realized 60 of the 68 National Strategic Program indicators set by the central government, or approximately 88 percent. This demonstrates the region’s commitment to supporting the national development program,” Hendrik said, as quoted by Antara.
He explained that the achievements include extreme poverty alleviation, public housing, government rice reserves, the National Health Insurance (JKN), free nutritious meals (MBG), expanded access to education, and the establishment of cooperatives in 1,235 villages and subdistricts.
Ribka praised Maluku’s implementation of strategic programs, noting that the government is focusing on accelerating infrastructure development while reducing poverty and improving human resources. She emphasized Maluku’s vast marine and fisheries potential as a key driver of regional economic growth.
“We see enormous potential in Maluku, especially in the marine and fisheries sectors. This potential, both above and below the sea, must be managed optimally to become a source of economic growth and improve community welfare,” Ribka said.
She also underscored the need to accelerate the realization of the Maluku Provincial Budget (APBD). “As June approaches, budget absorption must be boosted. The Ministry of Home Affairs is prepared to provide full support to strengthen budget realization and stimulate the local economy,” she added.
Governor Hendrik noted that Maluku’s economic growth reached 5.44 percent in 2025, up from 5.34 percent in 2024, while the poverty rate fell from 15.78 percent in 2024 to 15.25 percent in 2025.
During the meeting, the provincial administration asked the ministry to support several strategic projects, including the construction of the Maluku Integrated Port, the development of the Masela Block gas project, and the completion of the Wayapu Dam.
Hendrik said the success of these projects would strengthen Maluku’s role as a vital archipelagic region supporting national food security, energy, and the maritime economy. ***
