RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed a range of strategic regional and international issues during a meeting at the president’s private residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

According to the official presidential website, Hakan's visit was at the invitation of President Prabowo. His presence reflected the two countries’ efforts to strengthen communication and collaboration amid current global dynamics.

President Prabowo expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Turkish government for their support in repatriating nine Indonesian citizens who were part of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 humanitarian mission.

He said Türkiye’s assistance underscored the strong friendship between the two nations and demonstrated a shared commitment to humanitarian values and global solidarity.

The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, focusing on regional dynamics of global concern, particularly developments in Iran and Palestine.

As members of the Global South, Indonesia and Türkiye share the view that regional stability must be maintained through dialogue, diplomacy, and peaceful resolution.
