RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The government has conducted health inspections on sacrificial animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. The inspections were carried out to ensure the meat distributed to the public is safe for consumption and meets health standards.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the Animal Health Team from the Food Security and Livestock Agency of Madiun Regency inspected sacrificial animals in 15 districts. The inspections took place at slaughterhouses and several animal slaughter sites.

Representative of the sacrificial animal monitoring team, veterinarian Deni Irawan, said officers were deployed across every district during the slaughtering process. “We conduct post-mortem inspections during the slaughtering of sacrificial animals,” Deni said.

According to him, the inspections focused on internal organs such as the heart, liver, and lungs of the animals. The examination was conducted to identify any abnormalities or health problems in the organs.

“We inspect internal organs such as the heart, liver, and lungs to check whether there are any changes or not,” he said. He added that animals with normal organ conditions are considered safe for public consumption.

In addition to health inspections, the government also ensured that sacrificial animals distributed to the public comply with Islamic law. Presidential aid cattle were confirmed to have passed health examinations before distribution.

Deputy State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro stated that the presidential sacrificial cattle had obtained official animal health certificates. “So, the cattle are healthy,” Juri said.

He added that the sacrificial cattle also meet Islamic requirements for qurban. According to him, the cattle are over two years old, male, free from defects, and of premium quality.
