RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) has once again recorded an important achievement in strengthening the independence of maintenance for modern defense and security equipment. The Maintenance Unit (Sathar) 15 successfully carried out the first independent periodic Check C1 maintenance of the C-130 J-30 Super Hercules aircraft in Bandung on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
The Commander of Sathar 15, Lieutenant Colonel Chrisnha Cakti Samiaji, to the Commander of the TNI AU Material Maintenance Command, First Marshal Rudolf P. Buulolo, made the statement as part of the evaluation and strengthening of the maintenance capabilities of the TNI AU strategic transport aircraft.

In the implementation of Check C1, Sathar 15 personnel successfully completed 305 work cards covering the stages of preparation, operational check, inspection, lubrication, close out, ground run, and functional check flight.
"The entire maintenance process ran safely and according to procedure until the aircraft was declared ready to perform the home flight," Crisnha stated.
That success also reinforces the enhancement of Sathar 15's capabilities after obtaining the Maintenance Capability Certificate for the C-130 J-30 Super Hercules aircraft from Puslaiklambangjaau in March 2026. The certification serves as recognition of the readiness of human resources and maintenance facilities in handling the modern transport aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU).
The enhancement of personnel capabilities is also carried out thru familiarization programs and On The Job Training (OJT), as well as technical assistance from Depohar 20, Depohar 70, Air Squadron 31, and Technical Squadron 021, who previously have experience in the maintenance of the Super Hercules.
Meanwhile, Rudolf P. Buulolo expressed appreciation for the professionalism and dedication of the Sathar 15 technicians in completing the maintenance of the Super Hercules aircraft.
"That capability becomes a strategic investment for the Indonesian Air Force in achieving independence in the maintenance of modern defense and security equipment while also enhancing the operational readiness of air units," he said.
