RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - State-owned gas company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga has increased the distribution of 5.8 million subsidized three-kilogram LPG cylinders to meet household demand during the long holiday week.

Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun said the additional supply would be distributed in stages across various regions, taking into account consumption trends. “This step reflects Pertamina Patra Niaga’s commitment to maintaining energy resilience and reliability, particularly for subsidized LPG for eligible communities,” he said on Sunday, May 17, 2026.

He explained that the measure was taken to anticipate rising household consumption during the holiday period. “Pertamina Patra Niaga is adding 5.8 million cylinders nationwide to ensure community needs are met,” Roberth added.

He urged the public to purchase three-kilogram LPG cylinders according to their intended use and avoid excessive buying, so distribution remains equitable and targeted.

Roberth emphasized that the three-kilogram LPG cylinder is a subsidized product intended for low-income households, micro-enterprises, targeted fishermen, and farmers. Wealthier communities are encouraged to use non-subsidized LPG, such as Bright Gas, to ensure subsidies remain focused on those most in need.
