Government Fosters Digital Transformation of Hajj Services for 1447

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia's Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is strengthening digital transformation in the implementation of the 1447 Hijri/2026 AD Hajj pilgrimage, particularly in the areas of reporting, monitoring, and accelerating the response of pilgrim services in the Holy Land. Ministry of Hajj Spokesperson, Maria Assegaff, stated that digital transformation is a crucial part of efforts to improve service quality and pilgrim protection, making them faster, more measurable, responsive, and data-driven.
"Today we enter the 22nd day of the Hajj operational period. In general, all services are running smoothly, from departure in Indonesia and arrival in Saudi Arabia, to accommodation, meals, transportation, and worship guidance, with assistance from officers at all service points," Maria said in an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
Based on the latest operational data, 359 groups with 138,879 pilgrims and 1,433 officers have departed for Saudi Arabia. To date, 273 groups, consisting of 105,360 pilgrims and 1,092 staff, have arrived in Mecca.
For the second wave of pilgrims arriving via King Abdulaziz International Airport, 84 groups, consisting of 32,009 pilgrims and 337 staff, have arrived and are beginning to undergo a series of services according to operational procedures.
To support the strengthening of pilgrim services and protection, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah is optimizing the use of the Kawal Haji digital platform, which can be used by pilgrims and staff to submit reports, information, and service issues while in the Holy Land. "Through Kawal Haji, every report received can be monitored, forwarded, and followed up more quickly according to the authority of officers in the field," Maria said.
In addition, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah also strengthened the 2026 Hajj Command Center as an internal control center for Hajj implementation. The Command Center functions to monitor various aspects of services in an integrated manner, starting from the movement of pilgrims, group data, sectors, accommodation, transportation, consumption, to various field information that requires a quick response.
