RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, inaugurated a number of senior and administrative officials at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday in Jakarta May 12, 2026. The appointments were presented as part of efforts to strengthen the ministry’s institutional performance and public trust.
During the ceremony, Purbaya said job rotation and restructuring are necessary elements of organizational development. He said the process is intended to reinforce ministry functions, maintain an orderly structure, and improve confidence in public institutions.
“Position is not a privilege, but a function. If it is seen as a privilege, we become busy protecting our seat. But if it is seen as a function, we become busy working,” the minister said.
He also said Indonesia’s current economic conditions remain relatively stable. Household purchasing power remains solid, economic growth is positive, and the state budget continues to function as both a shock absorber and an effective countercyclical instrument in recent quarters.
According to the minister, every unit within the Finance Ministry plays an important role in maintaining that stability. He cited training institutions that strengthen human resources and tax offices that safeguard state revenue.
Purbaya reminded the newly appointed officials to maintain integrity in carrying out their duties. He said decisions made by officials directly affect society and therefore must be free from favoritism, transactions, or special treatment.
He described integrity as the main foundation of public service, warning that once public trust is damaged, restoring it becomes far more difficult. “We do not only collect taxes, but also protect public trust, strengthen state revenue, and ensure the Republic of Indonesia stands firm,” he said.
The inauguration was also framed as momentum to advance institutional transformation and improve the governance of state finances. The ministry said it remains committed to keeping the national budget healthy, credible, and capable of supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
