VP Gibran Highlighs Spirit of Learning and Student Comfort in People's School Visit

RRI.CO.ID, Bandar Lampung – Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected Integrated People's School 35 in Bandar Lampung, Sumatra's Lampung province on Friday, May 8, 2026. The Vice Presidential Secretariat said the visit was part of efforts under President Prabowo Subianto's government to strengthen the human capital quality through inclusive access to education and a learning environment that supports student development.
People's Schools is an education initiative to provide free access to education for children from poor and extremely poor families. It is designed to help reduce school dropout rates and improve the quality of education in the country.
During the inspection, Gibran toured several classrooms and greeted students. He stressed the importance of maintaining a balance between the teaching and learning process and student well-being during their education, addressing the provincial government, teaching staff, and parents.
"The Vice President's message was that children must continue to be cared for, supervised, and monitored. Not only in the quality of their lessons, but also in their emotional well-being. To maintain their enthusiasm and motivation in learning," Governor of Lampung, Rahmat Mirzani Djausal, said.
VP Gibran assessed that the People's School program continues to show positive developments. Rahmat said the program is growing, meaning it is "now showing [good] results".
On the same occasion, Gibran also inspected the English extracurricular class. He observed the learning process and engaged in brief dialogues with both students and teachers.
English teacher Ratna Wulandari said that the Vice President expressed his appreciation for the learning activities and encouraged them to continue improving their quality. Before leaving the class, the Vice President also advised the students to continue to maintain their enthusiasm for learning in order to achieve their dreams in the future.
"Earlier, the Vice President said this was good, it just needed to be improved... [The Vice President] generally gave a message to students to remain enthusiastic in studying to achieve their dreams," Ratna said after the inspection.
