RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia is strengthening the role of local game publishers to expand global market access for domestic developers. Indonesia's Vice Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, said publishers are key to bridging developers with international opportunities through funding, mentorship, and distribution.

According to her, the Indonesian game industry has strong talent. "But still needs a bridge to the global market in the form of funding, mentorship, and distribution,” Irene said at Yellow Hearts Launch Day in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

As quoted by press release, the event brought together the Ministry of Creative Economy, industry players, and game associations connected through IGDX 2025 and national incubation programs. It also showcased two debut titles, TypeCaster by TBA Studio and Irradiant Skies by Cuboids Studio, as outcomes of ongoing ecosystem development.

Government officials said the initiative reflects a more integrated national digital ecosystem that accelerates talent growth. Industry representatives added that local publishers improve efficiency by allowing developers to focus on production while business and distribution are handled separately.

The Indonesian Game Association noted that the presence of local publishers supports more streamlined development processes. Yellow Hearts said it aims to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global gaming industry through developer support and international collaboration.

The Ministry of Creative Economy reiterated that strengthening local publishers is part of its strategy to expand market access and enhance competitiveness. The game industry is positioned as a new engine of growth for Indonesia’s creative economy.
