RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Ministry of Transportation is conducting an investigative audit of Green SM Taxi following the train collision at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Before the accident, a Commuter Line train had stopped at Bekasi Timur Station because its track was blocked by a Green SM taxi that became stuck at a railway crossing in East Bekasi.
Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said the audit is being carried out comprehensively, covering operational, technical, and human resources aspects.
“Through this audit, we will verify the company’s compliance with safety and operational standards as a public taxi service provider. We will not hesitate to take action if serious violations are found,” he stated in a press release on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
The Ministry, through the Directorate General of Land Transportation, conducted on-site inspections at the Green SM Taxi pool in Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 28.
During the inspection, officials checked whether the Public Transportation Company Safety Management System (SMK PAU) was being properly implemented.
“We conducted the inspection to ensure all safety aspects are being followed, from pre-trip inspections to driver competency and health,” said Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan.
Aan added that several issues were identified during the initial inspection and are now being further analyzed to reach a comprehensive conclusion. “Additionally, the Directorate General will coordinate with the National Police and the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) regarding the alleged involvement of a taxi in the train collision in Bekasi,” he said.
He explained that the results of the audit and inspection will serve as the basis for recommendations, whether for safety system improvements or sanctions. Sanctions may include official warnings, license suspensions, or license revocations, depending on the severity of the violations. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
