RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The management of Green SM Taxi Indonesia has issued a statement regarding the train collision in Bekasi, West Java, involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek intercity train (KAJJ) and a KRL Commuter Line service on Monday evening, April 27, 2026.
The incident began when a Commuter Line train struck a Green SM taxi that had stopped at a level crossing.
This disruption forced a Commuter Line train from the opposite direction to stop at Bekasi Station. At the same time, the Argo Bromo Anggrek intercity train (KAJJ) was approaching from behind. The intercity train was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the stationary Commuter Line.
Green SM Taxi said it has provided information to the authorities and fully supports the ongoing investigation. The company emphasized that safety remains its top priority in transportation operations. “We are committed to maintaining safety standards through our operational systems and oversight,” the management wrote on its Instagram account @id.greensm on Tuesday, April 28.
The company added that it will continue to provide regular updates to the public once verified data is available.
According to State-owned railway operator PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin, the disruption began when the Commuter Line train struck the Green SM taxi at crossing JPL 85. Another Commuter Line train then stopped at Bekasi Timur Station, where it was later hit from behind by the Argo Bromo Anggrek intercity service.
“The incident began with a collision involving a green taxi at level crossing JPL 85. This caused a disruption to the railway system,” he said.
The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT), which is working to determine the primary factors behind the collision.
According to Vietnam Investment Review, Green SM Taxi Indonesia, an all‑electric taxi operator under GSM, began operations in Jakarta and Bekasi in 2025 with a fleet of about 500 VinFast electric vehicles. The company is among Indonesia’s first eco‑friendly taxi services, offering cleaner and modern urban mobility options. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
