Governor Pramono Urges Ulama and Habaib to Maintain Harmony in Jakarta

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has encouraged Ulama and Habaib to continue playing an active role in maintaining harmony. They are also urged to foster tolerance, and guide the younger generation amid Jakarta’s transformation into a global city.

He made the statement while attending the inauguration of approximately 1,500 officials of the Jakarta Forum Ulama Habaib (FUHAB) in East Jakarta, Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

“I would like to extend my congratulations because, after all, FUHAB is a community organization whose views and way of thinking truly bring a sense of peace to society, as they firmly uphold the principle that the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) is non-negotiable,” Governor Pramono conveyed as quoted from jakarta.go.id.

The FUHAB leadership includes Ulama and Habaib from various parts of Jakarta as well as the surrounding metropolitan area. According to him, this network is an important asset for strengthening communication and maintaining social harmony within the community.

“The inauguration of the Jakarta and surrounding areas Forum Ulama Habaib was attended by approximately 1,500 officials. Jakarta has 267 urban villages and 44 subdistricts, and of course there were also representatives from Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and other areas,” he said.

Governor Pramono affirmed that the role of Ulama and Habaib extends beyond religious affairs, as they are also needed to preserve unity and strengthen the character of society.

“The role of Ulama and Habaib is very important in building Jakarta. Not only in religious life, but also in maintaining harmony, strengthening tolerance, and guiding the younger generation,” he said.

He noted that Jakarta’s development toward becoming a global city must go hand in hand with improvements in the quality of its people and social life.

“Jakarta is moving toward becoming a global city. Therefore, Jakarta’s progress cannot rely solely on physical and economic development; it must also be accompanied by quality human resources, strong character, moral values, and a healthy social environment,” he said.

Governor Pramono expressed hope that FUHAB would continue to remain close to the community by providing constructive guidance and contributing solutions to various social issues.

“I hope FUHAB will continue to be present among the people, provide guidance that brings peace, nurture brotherhood, and become part of the solution to various social issues in Jakarta,” he said.
