RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - Indonesia's Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, launched 483 national occupational schemes across 34 tourism sectors, a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and the National Professional Certification Agency (BKSDA). "This documentation serves as a strategic guide for the tourism profession in Indonesia in developing clear, structured, and nationally recognized competency standards," Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana conveyed.

The launch, held in Bandung, was part of a series of activities titled "Real Actions for the Revitalization of Vocational Education and Vocational Training" organized by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Minister Widiyanti expressed her appreciation to all parties involved in the preparation of this document, including the National Professional Certification Agency (BKSDA), the scheme developers and verifiers, professional associations, and other stakeholders.

The launch of this national occupational scheme follows up on President Prabowo Subianto's directive to accelerate the improvement of human resource quality through vocational pathways that can create adaptive and productive job and business opportunities. This framework is expected to bridge industry needs with the quality of the workforce, enabling Indonesia's tourism human resources to compete nationally and globally.

She also revealed that by August 2025, the tourism sector will have employed approximately 25.91 million workers, and this figure has the potential to increase as human resources improve.

She emphasized that Indonesia possesses significant strengths not only in its natural and cultural riches but also in its demographic dividend, dominated by the productive age group. Therefore, strengthening the workforce foundation is key to driving sustainable progress in the tourism sector.

With increasingly robust competency standards, the Minister of Tourism believes the tourism sector will produce professionals capable of competing and leading change, both nationally and globally, toward a more quality Indonesian tourism sector.
