RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy, through the Creative Economy Agency for Startups (BEKUP), is organizing BEKUP Global Scale Up 2026: Startup Reveal and Final Brief for SusHi Tech 2026.

Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said the program aims to empower Indonesian digital startups to compete on the global stage.

Four selected startups will represent Indonesia at SusHi Tech 2026, one of Asia’s largest startup events, held in Tokyo from April 27 to 29. The event is attended by representatives from 60 countries and supported by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

“The hope is that while there, they can gain access to broader markets or even secure business partners and investments for their business development,” Minister Riefky said in Jakarta on Tuesday, April 21.

He explained that preparations were carried out in collaboration with KUMPUL.id, a startup ecosystem builder that connects entrepreneurs, communities, and investors across Indonesia. The program also received support from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) and JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization).

Faye Wongso, founder of KUMPUL.id, said the four startups were chosen through a rigorous curation process. From around 150 candidates, the list was narrowed to 50, then 10, before the final four were selected.

She noted that KUMPUL.id has previously collaborated with JETRO to bring Japanese companies into the Indonesian market, `12 in 2024 and 10 in 2025.

The four startups selected are:

  • Bell Living Lab – a platform that develops smart living solutions and sustainable urban innovations.
  • Gapai – a digital education and accessibility startup focused on empowering people with disabilities through technology.
  • IJO – a green-tech startup promoting eco-friendly products and sustainable consumption.
  • SPUN – a creative technology startup specializing in digital fashion and innovative design solutions.

Minister Riefky emphasized that the program’s primary objective is to establish concrete business collaborations, whether through market expansion or strategic partnerships that can attract investment. The ministry also provides intensive mentoring, including assistance with business proposals and market analysis. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
