RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah officially launched the Sa’i Walk & Run community in Jakarta on Sunday, April 19, 2026. The initiative aims to promote a healthy lifestyle integrated with spiritual values to support better Hajj preparation.

The event was held in the ministry’s office area and started early in the morning. It began with a congregational dawn prayer followed by a religious lecture led directly by the Vice Minister Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak.

The main activity was officially opened with a symbolic balloon release marking the start of the movement. Participants then joined a communal walk and run session in a lively and engaging atmosphere.

Dahnil explained the concept and background of the program. He highlighted three main pillars combining worship, spiritual strengthening, and regular physical activity.

Before delivering his main message, he emphasized the deeper meaning behind the initiative for participants. He said the program reflects values rooted in Islamic rituals and consistent daily discipline.

“Sa’i Walk & Run is not just about running. The key lies in three main activities: congregational dawn prayer, dawn study, and then closing with walking and running together,” he said.

He added that the concept is inspired by the sa’i ritual, one of the core pillars in Hajj. It symbolizes perseverance, continuous effort, and strong physical endurance in carrying out religious obligations.

He also stressed the importance of health istithaah as a key requirement for Indonesian pilgrims. Physical readiness is essential to ensure all Hajj rituals can be performed optimally and safely.

The program is open to the public through a free registration system with limited participant quotas. The ministry hopes to build a sustainable healthy lifestyle movement that supports better Hajj services in Indonesia.
