RRI.CO.ID, Bandung – Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) continuously contributes to the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG). This is reflected in the inauguration of the revitalized kitchen of the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) and the launch of the FUSION (Food Supply Integration Opportunity Network) Program in Bandung Regency.
As quoted from the ministry’s press release, Deputy for Micro Enterprises, Riza Damanik, stated that the revitalized kitchen has been confirmed to meet standards, as evidenced by the Certificate of Hygiene and Sanitation Compliance (SLHS). Riza noted that the MSMEs have participated in a series of activities.
“Since the kick-off on May 15, 2025, the MSMEs within the Bandung Cileunyi Cimekar 1 SPPG have undergone intensive training, mentoring, and business matching, as well as access to other support such as legal assistance, financing, market access, and supply chain support,” Riza said during the inauguration of the revitalized kitchen at SPPG Bandung Cileunyi Cimekar 1 at the Al-Kasyaf Islamic Boarding School, Bandung, on Thursday, April 16, 2026.
Currently, the number of local SMEs involved in this boarding school is growing, starting from just around 10 SMEs initially. Riza said, “Currently, there are 50 SMEs involved, each employing local workers, which demonstrates a positive impact on the local economy.”
Furthermore, the FUSION program is the result of a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of MSMEs and Regional Trade for Development (RT4D-RCEP), with full support from the governments of Australia and New Zealand, aimed at strengthening the integration of MSMEs into the food supply chain in West Java, particularly in the MBG region.
According to him, “FUSION is designed to strengthen existing MSME empowerment models.” This is achieved through a series of more inclusive and sustainable intensive mentoring sessions, using the GEDSI (Gender Equality, Disability, Social Inclusion) approach.
Based on BGN data from 2026, a total of 38,938 MSMEs are involved in the MBG program. Approximately 80 percent of raw material needs are also allocated to MSMEs.
