RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah strengthens preparations for the 1447 H/2026 Hajj season through a consolidation meeting in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The focus is placed on improving oversight, integrity, and service quality for Hajj officers.

Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, emphasized that integrity is the key to successful Hajj operations. He highlighted efforts to strengthen supervision through structural improvements within the organizing system.

He explained the change of terminology from “supervisory officers” to “supervisory officers and monitoring and evaluation (monev) teams.” The adjustment is aimed at strengthening comprehensive oversight in Hajj management.

“This change into supervisory officers and monitoring and evaluation teams is an effort to strengthen oversight in Hajj implementation. This year’s organization must be better than the previous year,” he said.

He further stressed that the initiative reflects efforts to improve public service quality in line with the government’s direction. He added that most non-procedural practices in officer assignments have been addressed.

He stated that around 70–80 percent of irregularities in officer placement have been resolved. The remaining issues will be tightened through enhanced monitoring mechanisms.

The minister also ensured that Hajj departures will proceed as scheduled without additional costs for pilgrims. He noted that budget discussions are still ongoing within the government.

He outlined that the first Hajj group is scheduled to enter the dormitory on April 21 and depart for Saudi Arabia on April 22, 2026. All preparations are being finalized according to the timeline.

Inspector General of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Dendi Suryadi, reported that the consolidation meeting involved 116 participants from various government institutions. The activity also included 70 pilgrim protection officers from the military and police.

He emphasized that cross-sector collaboration is essential to ensure successful Hajj operations. The meeting also established five key performance indicators, including full quota fulfillment and improved service quality.

The five indicators include achieving full Hajj quota, reducing pilgrim mortality, ensuring no missing pilgrims, minimizing service disruptions, and eliminating corruption practices in all stages of implementation.
