Pertamina Launches Subsidized Market Program for Low-Income Families

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian state-owned energy company Pertamina launches a subsidized market program for low-income communities. The statement was delivered in Jakarta on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

The program began earlier in Tuban, East Java. The initiative is part of efforts to support economically vulnerable households across Indonesia.

It will be implemented gradually in several operational areas of the company. The first rollout took place in Tuban on April 11, 2026.

Vice President Corporate Communication of Pertamina, Muhammad Baron, explained the target beneficiaries. The program focuses on households within deciles one to four.

These are based on the National Integrated Socioeconomic Data system. The subsidized market aims to ease economic burdens amid fluctuating basic commodity prices. It also provides direct support for essential household needs.

“Amid global dynamics, Pertamina hopes this subsidized market program can help low-income communities meet their basic needs,” he said.

The initial implementation in Tuban targeted residents in four villages near operational areas. These include Remen, Tasikharjo, Purworejo, and Mentoso villages. Beneficiaries were selected based on local government criteria.

As part of the Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility program, the initiative ensures sustainability. Each beneficiary family receives a package of essential goods at subsidized prices.

“The proceeds from the sale of these basic food packages will be fully redistributed to support the development and operational needs of worship facilities, village infrastructure, and orphanages in the surrounding areas,” he added.

Each package includes rice, cooking oil, sugar, condensed milk, sweet soy sauce, and canned sardines. The normal price of Rp211,000 is reduced significantly for beneficiaries. They can redeem the package for only Rp30,000.
