RRI.CO.ID, Solo - The Indonesian government highlights Mecca Route service convenience for Hajj pilgrims. Director General of Hajj Services, Ian Heriyawan, delivered the statement in Solo on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

It followed an inspection at Adi Soemarmo Airport. He reviewed the readiness of Mecca Route services.

He was accompanied by the airport’s General Manager during the inspection. The service allows Saudi immigration procedures to be completed in Indonesia.

He also explained that the system eliminates long queues upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. Pilgrims can directly proceed with their journey after landing.

“Through Mecca Route, Saudi immigration procedures are completed in Indonesia. This means that once pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia, they no longer need to queue for a long time for immigration checks,” he said.

He emphasized that the service focuses on efficiency and comfort for pilgrims. The goal is to reduce fatigue caused by long waiting times.

The following is his additional statement regarding the expected outcomes. “What we want to achieve is for pilgrims to be able to continue their journey immediately without the fatigue caused by long queues. This way, they can focus more on preparing for their worship,” he said.

Ian also ensured that the entire service process is ready for implementation. All stages, from document inspection to departure, are prepared carefully. This readiness aims to maximize the benefits for Indonesian pilgrims.

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, he continued inspections at the Solo Embarkation Hajj Dormitory. The visit was conducted with the Head of Central Java Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

The dormitory plays an important role in the service chain. He highlighted that the dormitory serves as the starting point for pilgrims’ journey.

Comfortable and orderly conditions will help create a calm beginning. “This Hajj dormitory is the starting point of the pilgrims’ journey. If everything here is already comfortable, orderly, and well-served, then their pilgrimage will also begin in a calmer and more peaceful state,” he said.

He added that readiness at the embarkation point supports the overall departure process. Pilgrims are expected to depart in good physical and mental condition.

According to him, strong coordination among all parties is essential to ensure effective services.
