RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Religious Affairs’ digital Qur’an service has recorded a remarkable milestone, with total reach surpassing 77.6 million users across platforms since its launch in 2019. The achievement underscores Indonesia’s success in transforming access to religious sites through technology.
According to the Head of the Qur’an Manuscript Verification Agency (LPMQ), Abdul Aziz Shidqi, the figure reflects the service's credibility and ease of access. “This marks the success of digital transformation in offering a reliable Qur’an that is accessible across devices and tailored to the needs of society,” Aziz said in Jakarta on Monday, April 6, 2026, as quoted on the ministry's official website.
The Microsoft Word Add-in dominated with 57.3 percent of active users, or 86,554 individuals, out of a total of 151,023. Aziz noted that this indicates the Qur’an service has become a standard reference for writers, academics, and compilers of religious documents in Indonesia to insert Qur’anic verses accurately.
In March 2026, LPMQ expanded the ecosystem by launching a PowerPoint Add-in. Despite being available only in the final month of the quarter, the feature attracted 3,556 users.
Aziz predicted rapid growth as preachers, teachers, and presenters increasingly seek practical and aesthetic ways to visualize Qur’anic verses in their presentations. “The PPT feature complements the digital Qur’an ecosystem, making it more inclusive,” he said.
Historically, the web platform remains the largest contributor, with 75.1 million users. Its accessibility through browsers without installation has ensured global reach, positioning it as the primary gateway for users worldwide.
The first-quarter breakdown shows 86,554 users on Microsoft Word Add-in, 30,459 on the web, 20,804 on Android, 9,650 on iOS, and 3,556 on PowerPoint Add-in. Aziz emphasized that LPMQ will continue monitoring usage trends to develop more advanced features that meet future needs. ***
