RRI.CO.ID, Depok - A total of 2,400 Depok hajj pilgrims joined the 2026 city-level manasik training. The event took place in Depok on Sunday, April 5, 2026. It was held at Duyufurrahman Mosque, Jatijajar, as preparation before departure.

The training is an essential stage to equip pilgrims with knowledge and readiness. Participants received guidance on rituals and practical preparations for the pilgrimage. The program also strengthens understanding of spiritual and physical responsibilities during hajj.

Director of Regular Hajj Supervision at the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Rudy Ambary, affirmed key aspects. He said hajj is both financial and physical worship requiring strong preparation. Pilgrims must prepare costs, health, and endurance for the entire process.

He explained that hajj involves demanding physical activities during each ritual stage. These include tawaf, sa’i, wukuf in Arafah, staying overnight in Mina, and stoning rituals.

Therefore, maintaining good health is crucial throughout the pilgrimage journey. Rudy also reminded pilgrims about the true meaning of hajj as a spiritual journey.

He stressed that hajj is not merely religious tourism or leisure travel. Instead, it carries deep spiritual values and tests of patience and gratitude.

Before delivering his key message, he highlighted the importance of mindset during hajj. Pilgrims should be ready to face challenges and unexpected conditions. They must remain patient and grateful throughout the journey.

“Hajj is not religious tourism, but a spiritual journey. In this journey, there will be various tests that teach pilgrims to be grateful and patient,” he said.

Depok Mayor, Supian Suri, also shared a message emphasizing gratitude and patience. He described the opportunity to perform hajj as a special calling from Allah. He urged pilgrims to stay patient in all situations to achieve a mabrur hajj.

Head of the Depok Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Fauzan, reported increased numbers this year. He said the total of 2,400 pilgrims is higher than last year. Pilgrims are scheduled to depart on April 22, 2026, from Bekasi Hajj Dormitory.
