Remains of Fallen TNI Soldiers from UNIFIL Mission Arrive in Indonesia

RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - The coffins of three Indonesian Military (TNI) soldiers who died while serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have arrived in Indonesia. Each coffin was prepared ahead of the welcoming ceremony and the handover to their families.
The plane carrying the coffins landed at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (SHIA) at 5:57 p.m. Jakarta Time. The arrival was attended by numerous TNI personnel.
The coffins were immediately transferred into three prepared hearses. A reception and final tribute ceremony is scheduled to be led directly by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.
The series of ceremonies began with a military tribute at the SHIA Terminal 3 VIP Apron, involving 530 TNI personnel from all service branches. During this ceremony, the coffins were formally handed over from UNIFIL to senior TNI officials.
Following the apron ceremony, the remains were taken to the VIP Building at Terminal 3 for the handover to their families, attended by President Prabowo, government officials, and TNI leaders.
One body was flown to Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) aboard a Hercules aircraft, while another was flown to Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung.
The remains of Major (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar will be buried at the Cikutra Heroes’ Memorial Park (TMP) in Bandung, West Java.
Chief Sgt. (Posthumous) M. Nur Ichwan will be buried at TMP Giri Dharmaloyo II in Magelang, Central Java. Second Cpl. (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadon will be buried at TMP Giripeni in Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta.
According to a written statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the remains of the three UNIFIL TNI soldiers were repatriated from Türkiye and laid to rest at the SHIA VIP lounge.
To secure the arrival, the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police deployed 90 joint personnel at the Terminal 3 VIP Building. Airport Police Chief Com. Wisnu Wardana confirmed the deployment on Saturday, April 4, 2026. (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
