RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense stated that the dead bodies of 3 TNI personnel in Lebanon are planned to be transported to Indonesia on Friday. The Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, made the statement to the media in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2026.

“The plan is to return them to the homeland. The departure will likely take place on Friday or it will be carried out on Saturday,” Rico conveyed.

According to him, the reason for the Friday or Saturday departure is the limited number of flights currently available in the conflict area.

Moreover, Rico explained that as of now, the bodies of the TNI soldiers are safely kept at Saida Hospital in Lebanon. The bodies are currently undergoing mortuary procedures.

“They are currently at Saida Hospital in Lebanon and are undergoing preparation procedures before being returned to the homeland,” Rico said.

Previously, three TNI personnel serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) mission were reported to have died while on duty in Lebanon on March 29 and 30, 2026.

The dead soldiers are Chief Private Farizal Rhomadhon, First Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Captain Zulmi Aditya Iskandar.

Farizal died as a result of indirect artillery fire near Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Meanwhile, Nur Ichwan and Zulmi died due to a landmine explosion near Bani Haiyyan on Monday, March 30, 2026.
