RRI.CO.ID, Tanggerang - Indonesia’s Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, attended the launch of Dewa United Motorsports for the 2026 season in Tangerang, Banten, Sunday 29 March 2026. The event highlighted the growing role of motorsport as part of the country’s expanding creative economy.

Speaking at the launch, the minister emphasized that motorsport is no longer limited to racing activities. He said it now represents a broader ecosystem involving design, merchandise production, brand activation, and digital content.

“Motorsport today is not just about racing. Behind every car on the track, there is a long economic chain that drives various creative sectors,” he said.

He added that sportainment has emerged as a new face of the creative economy and is becoming a new engine of growth. The sector is seen as capable of generating significant multiplier effects, including job creation and economic circulation across industries.

“When sports, entertainment, and creativity come together, the impact extends beyond the arena and creates sustainable economic opportunities,” he added.

The launch event also showcased sportainment activities, including a gokart arena and virtual Formula 4 simulation, reflecting public engagement with the industry. The atmosphere demonstrated collaboration between industry players, communities, and content creators.

Dewa United Motorsports announced its expansion into six divisions, including slalom, karting, drift, touring, sprint, and rally. This development signals a more structured and competitive motorsport industry in Indonesia, while opening opportunities for creative sectors such as automotive modification and digital content production.

CEO Muliana Saleh said the team aims not only for sporting success but also to contribute to building a sustainable motorsport ecosystem. She noted that the initiative is expected to support talent development and strengthen Indonesia’s presence in international racing.
