RRI.CO.ID, Surakarta - Indonesia’s Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, attended an Eid al-Fitr gathering at Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat, Thursday, 26 March 2026 highlighting efforts to strengthen national cultural preservation. The event in Surakarta served as a platform to reinforce collaboration between the government and traditional authorities.

In his remarks, Fadli Zon, emphasized that the tradition of silaturahmi, or social bonding, remains a vital element of Indonesia’s cultural identity. “Silaturahmi reflects the values of togetherness and social harmony that define our nation,” he said.

He further underlined the strategic role of the Surakarta Palace as a center of Javanese culture with deep historical significance. According to him, the government remains committed to advancing sustainable revitalization of cultural heritage sites.

The revitalization effort, he explained, goes beyond physical restoration and includes strengthening historical narratives and adopting modern management supported by technology. This approach is expected to enhance the palace’s appeal as an educational cultural tourism destination.

“The Surakarta Palace holds strong potential to become a world-class cultural destination through well-planned and collaborative revitalization,” Fadli Zon stated. He added that such development should foster a vibrant and globally competitive cultural space.

During the same occasion, Panembahan Tedjowulan called on the royal family to prioritize unity and collective interests. “Eid al-Fitr is a moment to restore harmony and safeguard the continuity of the palace,” he said.

The minister also toured several key areas within the palace complex, including the museum and Siti Hinggil, to assess current conditions and development opportunities. The visit marked an initial step toward a comprehensive revitalization plan.

Concluding his visit, Fadli Zon stressed the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in advancing national culture. “We aim for the palace to continue evolving as a cultural icon of Indonesia with a global presence,” he concluded.
