RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Eid al-Fitr is regarded as a strategic opportunity to strengthen halal product certification in Indonesia, as rising consumer spending highlights the importance of choosing halal products for various needs.

Halal Product Certification Agency (BPJPH) Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan noted a surge in consumption across food, beverages, fashion, and cosmetics. He said this situation provides an opportunity to reinforce the halal ecosystem while enhancing the competitiveness of national products.

“By choosing halal products, we help strengthen national halal product assurance and global competitiveness. The public needs to be careful in selecting the products they consume or use,” Haikal said in Jakarta on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

He emphasized that increased shopping activity ahead of Eid al-Fitr must be balanced with awareness to ensure the halal status of products. Consumer vigilance, he added, is a key factor in maintaining product quality, safety, and comfort.

According to Haikal, halal products are not only about religious values but also ensure cleanliness and quality, providing consumers with a sense of safety, comfort, and peace of mind. He urged the public to ensure that the products they choose carry official halal certification, which serves as proof that they meet applicable standards.

He further stated that halal product consumption can support sustainable national economic growth, as public preference for halal goods has a broad impact on domestic businesses.
