RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Ahead of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr celebrations, Indonesia's Vice President Gibran Rakabuming invited children from the Jakarta-based Children's Social Homes (PSAA) of Putra Utama 1, 2, and 3 to experience a hands-on shopping experience. The joy-sharing activity, attended by nearly 100 children, took place at a department store in South Jakarta on Monday afternoon, March 16, 2026.

"This activity is part of the government's commitment under President Prabowo Subianto's leadership to strengthen social protection and child empowerment, while also encouraging the realization of prosperity for Indonesia's young generation," the Indonesian Vice Presidential Secretariat said on Monday.

The secretariat said the Jakarta's midday heat "didn't dampen" the children's enthusiasm. The store was filled with laughter and joy as they chose their own clothes, reflecting simple yet meaningful joys.

"We were so happy to be invited on this trip. Getting out of the orphanage was also really exciting, so we were really happy," One of the children at the orphanage, Syifa Anisah, said with a beaming face.

The shopping activity focused on meeting daily clothing needs. The orphanage's assistants welcomed the opportunity as a companion from PSAA Putra Utama 1, Rama Azhari, hopes similar activities can be held again in the future.

"In the future, I hope activities like this can be held again so that children can be helped to meet their needs," he said.

Another participant, Keiko, also expressed her happiness at being able to choose her own clothes. She hoped that similar future activities could help meet the school needs of the children at the orphanage.

"Hopefully, we can also get school supplies, like socks or other supplies. That's very important to us," he said.
