RRI.CO.ID, Tanah Datar - Indonesia’s Ministry of Culture has distributed financial assistance to orphans affected by a natural disaster in Tanah Datar West Sumatra, Friday, March 13, 2026. The support is part of the government’s effort to help communities recover in the aftermath of the disaster.

The aid distribution was attended by local officials and community leaders. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening social solidarity for communities impacted by the disaster.

Minister of Culture, Fadli Zon, said the government continues to be present in supporting affected communities, particularly children who experienced the impact of the disaster. He noted that the assistance was also intended to bring encouragement ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebration.

“In this holy month, we want to strengthen solidarity, especially with the children who have experienced hardship. We want to share and provide support ahead of Eid al-Fitr in the coming days,” Fadli Zon said.

During the event, the government also highlighted the importance of the Free Nutritious Meal program, which is expected to reach more children across different regions. The program aims to support children’s health and improve their motivation to learn.

The Minister also delivered a message of encouragement to the children receiving assistance, urging them to remain motivated in pursuing their education. He encouraged them to continue studying and never give up despite challenges.

“You must stay enthusiastic, study diligently, read books, and never give up,” he told the children attending the event. The message was intended to inspire them to keep striving for a better future.

Through this initiative, the government hopes to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and togetherness within the community. The assistance is also expected to provide moral support for people who are still recovering from the impact of the disaster.
