RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has established strategic collaboration with the United Kingdom (UK) through the UK Landing Pad program to open opportunities for local startups to expand and compete in global markets.
Communication and Digital Deputy Minister Nezar Patria emphasized that Indonesia is currently a major force with the largest digital economy in Southeast Asia. He said the country also has strong ambitions to grow local innovations that can compete internationally.
Indonesian startups, however, often face significant obstacles when expanding abroad. These challenges include regulatory differences, cultural barriers, and limited access to established international networks.
“For many of our startups, the journey beyond national borders is hindered by a ‘glass ceiling’. We welcome the UK Landing Pad, which is specifically designed to break through these barriers,” Nezar said at the program launch event in South Jakarta on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, as quoted on the ministry’s official website on Wednesday, March 11.
Through the program, Indonesian startups will gain structured pathways to expand into the UK market, supported by mentors, experts, and international networks. The partnership is built on a shared vision that digital innovation must serve communities and drive sustainable and inclusive growth. ***
