RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang: Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah consolidated hajj and umrah operations at Banten Embarkation on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The ministry also prepared the Banten Hajj Dormitory as a pilot project for One Stop Services for umrah. The initiative aims to strengthen service ecosystems and pilgrim protection.
The consolidation forms part of efforts to reinforce regional hajj economic ecosystems. It includes plans for an integrated umrah service simulation at the Banten Hajj Dormitory. The program is expected to support local economic growth.
Vice Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, outlined the integrated service scheme. He said the One Stop Services would combine immigration, airlines, manasik, and CIQ processes. All procedures would be completed before departure.
He emphasized the concept would simplify procedures for pilgrims. The integrated model is designed as an optional service scheme. Pilgrims can choose the system according to their needs.
“We want to provide services that are simpler, integrated, and give certainty to pilgrims. All processes—manasik, immigration, to flights, can be completed at the dormitory. This is a service option, not an obligation,” he said.
Dahnil said the Indonesian Government remains committed to protecting pilgrims. This commitment continues despite regulatory revisions allowing independent umrah schemes. Saudi Arabia has also expanded access for broader participation.
“Even though there is an option for independent umrah, the state remains present to ensure pilgrim protection and maintain an orderly and accountable ecosystem,” he said.
The ministry also encouraged improvements in national airline services, including Garuda Indonesia. Officials hope airlines become more competitive and affordable for pilgrims. A special task force will oversee implementation and support local MSMEs around the dormitory.
