RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta: A total of 6,047 Indonesian umrah pilgrims returned home safely in stages. The update was delivered in Jakarta on Monday, March 2, 2026. Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah ensures maximum protection amid ongoing Middle East tensions.
The Indonesian government continues monitoring regional security developments and international flight dynamics closely. Safety, security, and comprehensive protection remain the government’s primary concerns. All handling processes are conducted carefully, measurably, and under strong coordination.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Ichsan Marsha, said the repatriation process is running gradually. Authorities are supervising each return phase with strict operational control. The goal is to guarantee safe, orderly, and well-managed arrivals.
“Since February 28 until March 1, 2026, a total of 6,047 pilgrims have returned to the homeland safely. The government continues to oversee this process so that all pilgrims can return gradually and orderly,” he said.
He explained that 4,200 pilgrims returned on Saturday, February 28, 2026, using 12 flights. Meanwhile, 2,047 pilgrims arrived on Sunday, March 1, 2026, using five flights. All arrivals were arranged through close coordination with related aviation authorities.
Before the Hajj season on April 18, 2026, 43,363 prospective pilgrims are scheduled to depart. They are registered through 439 Umrah Travel Organizers, known as PPIU. The government emphasized full responsibility from departure, services in Saudi Arabia, until return.
“We ensure every PPIU carries out its obligations fully, from departure, services while in Saudi Arabia, to the pilgrims’ return. That responsibility must not be neglected,” he said.
He also urged pilgrims and organizers to maintain transparent communication and mutual understanding. Clear coordination is necessary during this evolving regional situation. Safety, proper services, and travel certainty remain essential priorities for Indonesia.
“We together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs continue to coordinate with Indonesian representatives abroad to ensure every pilgrims’ issue is handled quickly and appropriately. We ask all pilgrims to remain calm and follow official directions,” he said.
